SNS New Nail System?

I was down at the local shopping centre the other day and I saw a new nail system advertised, not acyrlic or gel, but SNS Nail System, much better for your nails, will leave them healthy! Well, I was quite surprised as I commenced an online course for nails in 2013, and the first system that the pupil was supposed to master was the 'quick dip system' which consisted of painting a resin on the nail and then dipping it into a pot of acrylic powder, this was followed by spraying the nails with an activator.
I went on line to see if this was some new wonderful system, but to my surprise it appeared to be the same as I had done on my online course. A colleague of one of my nail groups that I am in had done her research, and she had downloaded the MSDS sheets for all the products used with the new SNS system. It would appear that the resin that is first applied is pretty much the same as super glue, then you dip your finger into a pot of pretty much acrylic powder, so what is the difference I thought to the quick dip system from my online course. The truth is there is none.
You are still having a polymer and a monomer (acrylic) applied to your nails, it is simply another way of applying the products. It is actually quicker, but for some reason it was more expensive, I suppose as it does not damage your nails! All very interesting, but for the life of me I could not understand why it was more expensive. It is all to catch the unsuspecting customer.
It also adds raises the component of dipping the nails into a pot of powder that other clients have used, not very sanitary. Some salons will sprinkle the powder over your nails which at least offsets the worries of cross contamination. Hopefully the brush has been scrubbed and disinfected.
Any acrylic or gel will leave you natural nails weak if you have had them on for some time. SNS nails is no different. So it is not good for your nails.
So please, go to a reputable nail technician or a beauty therapist, check out their qualifications, have a look around the salon, ask about theirn hygiene practices, if they are above board, they will be happy to share that information, I know I am.
